Currency Options
CIMS is a multi-currency system and allows Estimates / Quotations, Invoices and Payments to be generated and paid in any currency. Currencies uses are converted to the default CIMS installation currency using exchange rates which can be entered at the time of transaction. The system uses an optional exchange rate lookup.
CIMS uses an internet service to list all currencies and supply exchange rates between them.
To add a new currency to the CIMS currency table do the following:
1. From the main ring menu select the "Manage The System" option
2. Select "Currency Options"
3. Enter a symbol for the nw currency - note that this can be a series of characters. If possible choose from the existing list as the exchange rates for these can be automatically checked on the internet
4. Select the currency from the drop down list
5. Enter the exchange rate between your CIMS default currency and the new currency. Note that inserting the word "optional" will tell the system to look up the exchange rate using the internet service
6. Select the "Update" button to save changes
To Edit an existing currency do the following
1. From the main ring menu select the "Manage The System" option
2. Select "Currency Options"
3. Make the required changes
4. Select the "Update" button to save changes
To delete a currency from the CIMS currency table do the following
Note that currencies that are in use cannot be deleted. Those that are in use will have the words "in use" the adjacent column
1. From the main ring menu select the "Manage The System" option
2. Select "Currency Options"
3. Enter a check mark in the "delete" column
4. Select the "Update" button to save changes
